For those that don’t want to “have software hijack my search provider. I decide!!!!”, here’s an advice:

When installing, stop clicking next, next, next… and actually engage your brain.
Instead of ‘typical’, choose ‘custom’. Unselect “change my search provider” and “install Ashampoo toolbar”.

Application gives you a choice. So if you do not take it, quite whining and screaming that “you want to decide!!!!!”.

if you had used custom install you can stop it doing that LMAO

JUST like almost any other program you install.

This is user error not software error .......

The software didn't hijack anything - it did exactly what you told it to do.

Nope, we are not lazy, we, as users, do not have the obligation of "knowing" that by folloing the DEFAULT installation process the application would end up installing its own search toolbar (therefore, hijacking) .

The application must not hijack anything by default, if you decide to install their additional "features", such as their "search toolbar" then go "Custom", not the other way around jerks.

I must agree, anything that is purchased or obtained as a freeware, etc. ALWAYS do a custom install. This helps prevent quite a few things from happening such as changing your search provider, home page, etc. Some software will still make changes that we don't approve EVEN when we choose custom! Always back up your computer before installs! Technically if you choose default settings, you are not being hijacked, sorry, I have to agree with the other posts. Software developers have to make a living too!
